Al-Hokair Wins “Best CEO in the Hospitality Sector in the Kingdom” Award

Riyadh:  CEO Middle East magazine has awarded the CEO Middle East Award for “Best CEO in the Hospitality Sector in the Kingdom” for 2013 to businessman Sami bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Hokair, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hokair Group for Tourism and Development.

 

 The honorary shield was awarded by Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Jasser, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information  to Mr. Sami Al-Hokair and sixteen other employees in various business sectors in Saudi Arabia at a special ceremony held on  Monday at Al-Faisaliah Hotel.  The award was presented in the presence of several representatives of the tourism and hospitality, finance and  media sectors.

 The panel of judges made up from executives of ITP Group, responsible for the awards, stated that the award was presented to Sami Al-Hokair for his efforts in leadership and conscientious and his ambitious plan to upgrade the tourism sector from within the Group through the polarization of many competencies in the sector, as well as his keenness to improve tourism products, a role which has been played extensively by Al-Hokair Group for Tourism and Development.

 

The winning of  such an award  provides further evidence that Al-Hokair Group for Tourism and Development is currently experiencing significant growth and development due to the widespread range of distinguished services in its specialized fields, a major factor in prompting  the panel of judges to grant Mr. Sami Al-Hokair this award,  acknowledging his strenuous efforts in continuing to march towards advancement and quality in the tourism sector.

 

In turn, Al-Hokair expressed his gratitude for the honor of winning the award by thanking everyone who participated in the event, while stressing that Al-Hokair Group will continue to strive towards achieving increased success in all areas in which they operate.

 

Commenting on these strategies, Al-Hokair said,” We aim to contribute to the development of tourism in all regions of the Kingdom and attract a greater number of visitors and tourists, while providing  unique tourism services, as well as creating recruitment opportunities for young Saudis  in enabling them to contribute to local cadres in the Kingdom’s tourism industry,  a cornerstone of the national economy.”

 

He continued by adding that the Group is interested in supporting and motivating  the tourism industry in the Kingdom and it’s tourism culture by investing in the hotel and entertainment sectors that aim to supplement the national economy and provide support, through horizontal expansion in tourism and entertainment. 

 

Al-Hokair also emphasized the fact that the Kingdom is full of archaeological  treasures and antiquities, while praising the role of the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) and HRH Chairman Prince Sultan bin Salman, for his overwhelming support of all tourism activities.

 

He concluded that the Group is currently targeting the acquisition of more than 12,000 hotel rooms to meet demand, due to the Kingdom  annually hosting numerous visitors and tourists. The company currently owns more than 37 hotels in the Kingdom, in addition to four hotels in Jordan and Dubai.
