Federation of the GCC Chambers of Commerce Honors Al-Hokair

 

The Federation of the GCC Chambers of Commerce has honored Saudi executive, Abdul Mohsen Al- Hokair, Chairman of the Group, on the sidelines of the Fourth Gulf Forum for Tourism and Investment hosted by the Emirate of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates.

 

The Secretariat attributed Al-Hokair's honor to his leading role in the revitalization of the tourism system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region over the past several decades, in addition to his contribution in the development of the concept of safe recreation and entertainment, aimed at recreation centers, both inside and outside the Kingdom. 

 

The Federation pointed out that Al-Hokair through the establishment of the High Institute for Training for Hospitality has been working to rehabilitate Saudi cadres to work in various hospitality sectors based on sound scientific needs of the industry by employing specifically citizens, trained to work in the tourism and hospitality sector at all levels. Al-Hokair also owns more than 80 entertainment centers and retail outlets within Saudi Arabia and abroad, amounting to an area of over two million square meters. As well as more than 30 hotels rated four-star and above, as well as spas, dive centers and apartment complexes that employs more than six thousand employees. 

 

Al-Hokair stated in a working paper to the forum entitled, "Investment in the Tourism and Entertainment Industry" delivered on his behalf by Misha'al Al-Hokair Executive Vice President of Development and Marketing in Al-Hokair Group, that interest in the tourism and entertainment industries in the Kingdom attaches importance to the need of creating a valuable and unique tourism development with social, cultural, environmental and economic benefits. He added that this must be done based on Islamic values, in accord with the authenticity of its ancient heritage and its traditional hospitality, given that the tourism development achieved must also be economically diverse and socially enriching, providing many employment opportunities and preserving the environment and cultural authenticity.
